Title: 

16th Annual Triangle Breastfeeding Alliance Conference: Optimizing Outcomes in Challenging Situations

Description:  The participant will know how to assist families in overcoming breastfeeding obstacles. 
To receive the group rate, completed registrations must be submitted together via fax or US Mail. The group fee is not available online. See brochure for details.

Audience:  Lactation consultants, physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, certified nurse midwives, nutritionists, public health staff, childbirth educators, doulas, peer counselors, community breastfeeding support group volunteers and others providing care for mothers, infants and their families

Objectives:  1. Describe breastfeeding support in the context of substance abuse.
  2. Discuss opportunities to improve infant feeding outcomes in shifting global situations.
  3. Discuss the vision of public health programs available to North Carolina families.
  4. Implement strategies to ensure adequate intake for appropriate weight gain.
  5. Identify factors that have contributed to overcoming challenges to breastfeeding success in North Carolina and beyond.
